One of Keyton's favorite books is this annoying thing that sings (thank you Brian and Natalie). Anytime the music starts he dances, or in this case spins.

[we're trying a new way to post videos. Will you (pretty please) leave a comment and tell us if you can NOT see this video?]

We have had some crazy rain storms lately. We decided we had to go out and play in this one!

Not Yet

Keyton and I often go on morning jogs. Much to my dismay this morning there was frost on the grass. I wasn't ready to bust out the hat and mittens quite yet! I know it's not snow but it's a sign of cold soon to come. I'm not ready!!

Let's Read!

Keyton has decided he likes to read books again. He wakes up in the morning and brings books off his shelf to us in bed to read. I found him the other day reading on his chair. What an intellectual!

ode to the red car

We live in family student housing. Think play grounds, green space, and international students. But the icon that captures the complex the best is the ubiquitous yellow toped red car. They are everywhere. If you collected them all together you'd have a massive used red car lot. Keyton loves to hijack these abandoned cars. Too bad for him his legs are too short to make it go (you can blame that one on your Grandpa Scott, Keyton. Although you are in the 80% for height, you have stubbin' legs and your pants are too long). Oh well, he can always fall back on playing in a cardboard box.

More Fair Favorites

Another first for Keyton: baby's first corn dog. What a moment. Then a small tribute to my favorite part of the fair--the crop art. At first you think it's a joke, people making mosaic-like pictures with beans and seeds. (Get it, art made out of crops?) Then you realize they are being for real. Displays range from life like mustard seed portraits of celebrities to 1st grade arts and crafts. Crazy.

The Great Minnesota Get Together

We went to the oh-so-popular MN state fair when we got back in town. Keyton especially enjoyed the animals this year as evidenced above. His favorite was the horses, Nick's favorite was the state's largest boar.

Billings MT

As you may know we spent the Summer in Portland Oregon. Keyton and I flew out and Nick drove the car, but we ultimately decided to all drive back to Minnesota together. We drove all Friday night from Portland to Billings Montana where my Grandparents live, spent the day with them, then drove Saturday night from Billings to St. Paul. I don't highly recommend it, but the worst part of the whole ordeal wasn't the 27 hours spent in the car, the exhaustion of driving at night, or even the beautiful landscape of Nebraska. No, the worst part was when Keyton decided to throw an orange sized rock on my toe in G&G Smith's back yard. I thought I was going to die. Weeks later my toe is still sore but I think I'll live. Keyton did have fun meeting and playing with two of his many Granparents Smith. Thanks for having us GGG!!

Oldie but a Goodie

While his mom and dad were triathlon-ing in Boise Keyton was honing his own athletic skills. Also here are Nick and Keyton with Grandma and Grandpa Great.

Feeding the birds

Pictures at last!! We've been a little preoccupied with driving across the country, moving back into our apartment, starting school, etc. But here goes. . .here are pictures of Keyton feeding the birds at Pike Street Market in Seattle. He really got into it. I think because he got to throw things, chase birds, and scream.
