Keyton is an athlete
In order to not violate my inviolate rule against pictureless posts, please enjoy this picture of not Keyton running. The real Keyton ran a mile on Wednesday night. I'm not using "mile" in the exaggerated sense that he ran really far for a little guy, but a real life, 5,280 feet, four laps around a high school track mile. We went for Young Men's on Wednesday so the boys could work on their physical fitness merit badge. Keyton got very excited about the prospect of getting to run on a race track. He had a friend there that was about his same age, and they lined up with the older boys on the starting line and took off when someone said go.
And he ran. He didn't run and then walk and then run again. He didn't really even jog. He raced around the track with his friend chasing each other and screaming. We also pretended to be the following: geese, eagles, truck drivers, trucks, motorcycles, cars, airplanes, and boosters. We did stop after 3 laps to do pushups and situps with the older boys. I told Keyton it was then time to go home and he said he wanted to run on the race track some more, so he ran another lap. It was completely dark by the time we were done, I was hot and sweating, and my calves were cramping up. Keyton wanted to race back to the car. He won.
Maybe every 2 year old can/does/wants to run laps for fun and I'm making a big deal out of nothing. Either way, Keyton never ceases to amaze me.
