I'm Yoda, You're Hobie One Kanobie

December 31, 2009

On a side note, yesterday Keyton told me, "Mom, when I grow up and you buy a toothbrush and toothpaste and you are my children I'm going to hide your toothbrush with water on it and you'll never find it." (We lure Keyton into brushing his teeth by hiding it for him to find).

Star Wars exibit at the Indianapolis Childrens Museum, what a bad idea

Why didn't we just fish?

Or stick to the vintage carousel?

Oh no, we had to dwell at the Star Wars exhibit. Had we know the pain it would be causing us still a month later we would have turned and run. "How come storm troupers don't have light sabers?" "Did you know that Jarjar is clumsy?" "How come Darth Vader is a bad guy?" "Let's play battle and I'll be the emperor-er with two light sabers and you be the good guy with one and we'll go pshew pshew!" "How come Luke Skywalker will be unemployed if he kills Darth Vader?" "Do you want to play Star Wars with me?"

"Can you see Yoda's force?" "Do you want to sword fight with me?" "When I grow up I want to be a Yoda school teacher at my school so I can play with Star Wars legos all day." On and on and on. It never stops.

Every day I hope, will this be the day the Star Wars fascination subsists?

Keyton, do you want to play a game? Read a book? Build a fort? "Yoda is a Jetti knight." "Good eguys have green or blue light sabers and bad guys have red light sabers." "No mom, it's RTD2."

Somebody shoot me.

Snow!

Joy.

Apprehension.

And for a good reason. Lola's mobility is compromised by hand-me-down boots that are several sizes too big. So instead of walking around she plants herself in the snow for what appears to be a serious ab work out.

Angels.

Snowman.

To the park.

Christmas morning magic

Lola sneaks Santa's leftover cookie.

"Who me?"

Oh, the excitement! A cape!!!

Remote control car!!

SWORDS!!!!

Hmmm. . . .swords.

Cape, swords, trampoline, a trifecta of Christmas present goodness.

K&L weren't the only one's to make out. Santa brought Katie some smashing socks.

Keyton got Banana a Purdue Grandma mug since he attends preschool at the prestigious university. Sadly, not a half hour later Lola had broken the mug left on the floor. Bummer.

The day was spent assembling puzzles,

skyping with Natalie,

playing with toys,

and talking to Kyle who is in Argentina on a church mission.

Our gingerbread block

Can you guess which creation is bringing the property value down on our gingerbread block?

Is it the funky condo?

The quaint cottage?

The cozy bungalow?

Or the space shuttle?

Katie and Banana

Day one with Cool Aunt Katie and Banana. We walked to the Moses Fowler mansion all done up for Christmas. Banana practices her smiling skills. Don't quit your day job Banana!

Keyton works on being fired from his pastry chef job by eating away all the pie crust dough.

Ejected from the kitchen, he enlists Katie's help for an acoustic rendition of his all-time favorite Christmas carol, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.

And what could be better than hiding under a blanket? Ah, it's going to be a good week.
