Brown County State Park
We took a quick weekend trip to Brown County State park, just twenty minutes from Bloomington Indiana, one of the top rated retirement cities in the United States. This destination is famous for its fall foliage, of course we went in January, so we can't speak to that.
The weather was unseasonably warm and dry so we were able to do some hiking. It was so nice to be outside!
The park apparently boasted amenities such as the Hot Tub Suite perfect for honeymooners, and the Sweetheart Cabin for romantic getaways. We stayed in the Abe Martin Lodge where there was an indoor water park and every room was occupied by children who screamed through the night.
Keyton stays occupied on our hikes by beefing up his stick collection and singing.
A final stop at the play equipment and we headed home via the outlet mall where we spent money we don't have on things we didn't need.

Nick is proving himself as a serious bike commuter. To date he has only not ridden his bike to work once due to freezing rain which caused three hard falls before he was even down the driveway.
Keyton and I are left to shovel the snow.

I took Keyton to the local ballet school's production of the Nutcracker along with a friend and her daughter Minnie. I was worried that Keyton would be too little to sit through the whole thing, but he was totally into it. He was perfect, except for the stage whisper play-by-plays: "Mom, that's Uncle Droselmeyer!" "Mom! The boys are being mean to those girls!" "Look! The Rat King!! But it's not a Rat King, it's a Rat Queen." So fun.
Keyton and Minnie compete for the least photogenic.
