Margo's Wedding

What would inspire one to drive 22 hours from Portland, Oregon to Los Alamos, New Mexico? Need for family bonding? Devotion to your step-sister to the extreme? A death wish? Whatever the reason my dad, Katie, Kyle and I did just that. In one straight shot, just about. I cannot emphasize enough how many hours we were in the car, compounded by the fact that we left for the return trip the very next day after arrival. That's a 44 hour drive in the span of 96 hours. It was so. much. driving.

Do not be fooled by the number of pictures below, they occurred over a span of less than 24 hours. The picture above represents 95% of the trip.

Pregger twiners.

Katie and Kyle hit the slots.

The blushing bride.

Sisters, sans Angie. . .sort of.

Dad and Hansen siblings minus Natalie. Sorry Nat, no cut out for you.

I have never seen my dad dance.

And like that it was all over, and we were back in the car wishing that was all over too.

But at least it was scenic.

Grandpa Scott, he's so cool

Little did Grandpa know once he taught K how to play, his favorite phrase would be "Do you wanna play chess?" asked repetitively all hours of the day. (Note Kyle back there biting his nails. STOP THAT KYLE!!)

Keyton's first trip to the dentist was a smashing success. Karen cleaned his teeth and Keyton informed her that the bugs that eat your teeth are called plaque, duh Karen. Grandpa didn't find any cavities and Keyton walked away all smiles with his the-dentist-is-cool propaganda goody bag.

Mancake Challenge

Katie, Kyle, Keyton and I headed to a dinner in Portland where Keyton and Kyle ate ridiculous amounts of food.

The only way we could persuade Keyton to come with us was the promise of a doughnut. Turns out they don't have doughnuts, but they do have "cinnamon-roll-donuts".

Pounded it.

Kyle took on the Mancake challenge: eat three 13" buttermilk pancakes and get your picture on the wall (as seen on Man vs. Food).

He started strong,

but that one last cake . . .

claimed the victory.
