style

Lola has been putting together some pretty rad outfits lately. You have to admire her ability to accessorize, but mostly I appreciate her dexterity to get dressed all by herself.

Here the kids both demonstrate their taste for high fashion in their wardrobe choices for school's halloween day. Keyton: Han Solo. Lola: superhero girl?

The cultural experience that was Maddox

They claim to be "Utah's family gathering place". With banquet room after banquet room filled with families topping 15 or more, indeed they are. "Johnson party of 12" echos over the intercom as we walk in. I was especially entertained by the handicap parking section of the lot which boasted no less than 25 handicap spots all filled with the Cadillacs of Brigham City's grandmas and grandpas.

Kids meals were served on pink frisbees, so we even went home with a memoir. Food was good, company better. Final verdict: awesome.

Tom & Tai's wedding

A hotel within blocks of the temple, lunch, and cute downtown Logan, combined with sunny weather made for a pedestrian's dream. Also, there was a pool at the hotel. Could things get any better?!

Lola, disturbed by an itchy collar, only wore the dress Grandma Becky made her long enough to snap a picture.

Kyle and Sandra came up to experience what an action packed Saturday with two kids can look like. Here they pose with Keyton in front of the tabernacle.

Keyton, photographer extraordinaire.

Luncheon

Tom and I literally have the same haircut (#4 on top, #3 on the side). Twins!

Shoshone Falls

We stopped at Shoshone Falls for lunch on the way home from the wedding - a first for everyone.

We ate and hiked and ran around until someone got grumpy which was our cue to get back in the cars and drive home.

Keyton turns 6!

Bday pancakes.

Bday party with friends.

Topped off with family for dinner and more celebrations. Big hits were Star Wars ships and a huge tub of old legos passed down from my siblings. Keyton even felt special that we spent the bulk of the day cleaning the house in his honor. What a guy.

Anything but a puppy

Nick has been pining away for a puppy. This is nothing new, but lately he has taken it up a notch and calling the pound questioning after particular dogs and researching breeds online in earnest. All of this is quite distressing to me. So I didn't even hesitate when Nick asked if he could get a few more chickens while running an errand near the chick distributor. Yes! Please get chickens and forget about a dog. Well, little did I know he would bring home an entire flock.

Total damage: 6 chickens (4 layers, 2 meat), 2 turkeys, 2 ducks. Ten birds is better than one dog, so I'm still okay.

A week later the ducks are ready for a swim in the tub.
