Farewell Poultry

Chickens, you were still laying eggs (as evidenced below) but you two were too loud. Goodbye.

Ducks, you turned out to be males so you couldn't lay eggs. Goodbye.

The yard

Busy at work? End of the school year craziness? Eight months pregnant? Sounds like the perfect time to overhaul the yard!

May 9, 2012
Before shots

Phase 1: rip up sod for raised beds

May 12
Phase 2: trench through the gas line so firefighters will come out and give our kids stickers

May 16
Phase 3: Nick hurts his back in a ploy to get Terry to do all the work

May 19
Phase 4: lay pipe for the sprinklers, place garden box outlines, continue lame back routine

June 10
Phase 5: finish sprinklers, fill in trenches, plant seed

July 12
Phase 6: Water, water, water. Hot temperatures and new baby means yard hiatus until Fall.
